How to create a playlist and schedule it to play on a radio station

Last Updated: Aug 01, 2013 06:17PM EEST
In order for you to schedule a playlist to play in a station you need to be a staff member of that station (or, of course, be the owner). Visit the management area of your station and click on the "Media Library" button to open the library of the station.
In the Media Library select the songs you want in your playlist by clicking on the checkbox on their left.

Then click on the Playlist menu item on top. Since you have no playlists yet, create a new playlist by writing a name for your playlist in the "add a new playlist" box and clicking on "update playlists".

Your playlist has been successfully created. You can now click on My playlists and see your playlist with the songs you selected.

Now click on the Selected tab and select "Clear all selected items" to clear your selection. This will allow you to select individual tracks and move them around.

If you want to reorder the songs in the list just select a song and use the "Move up" and "Move down" buttons on the top of the screen to change their position. Once you are happy with the changes, click Save Changes.
If you're happy with your playlist, you can now have it play at specific days and times on your radio station by scheduling it.
Go back to the management area of your station and click on the "Schedule" tab.The ‘Shows’, ‘Pilots’, and ‘Playlists’ links on top are filters for the schedule items displayed below. By clicking on ‘All’, no filter is applied so you can see all pilots, playlists and shows that are scheduled during the current week. To have a clean view, click on "Playlists" since we are going to schedule a playlist on this radio station's schedule.

Pick a slot inside the schedule by clicking on a time slot to set the start time and dragging downwards to set the end time.

On the window that appears click on the Playlist tab and in the admin selection select yourself. The list playlists you have will load in the second dropdown menu so select the one you’ve just created (here you get the option of ignoring the preset order of songs and shuffling them, if that's what you want). Further down, you can set recurring schedules. If you'd like your playlist to play every day on the time specified, click on "repeats itself" and select "every day", then set when repeat plays will end by either selecting a date or a number of occurrences.
When you're happy, click on Save.

Your playlist has been successfully been scheduled and will start playing the date and time you have set.
