Listening to radio stations

Last Updated: Aug 01, 2013 04:52PM EEST

Do I need to sign up to listen to radio stations?

No you don't need a Radiojar account to listen to music. Just visit a radio station's profile page and click on "listen".
However, if you do create a profile on Radiojar (it's free and easy), you can favorite the radio stations you like and find them easily again. You can also follow DJs and get reminders for shows you like and if you like to you can even attempt to join a radio station and start DJing.

Can I see what track is playing right now?

Some stations publish that information and some don't. Click on the arrow button in the player to open up a "drawer" with additional information about the station/show playing now. If the track information is available, it will show up there:

You can also visit the radio station's page by clicking on its logo in the player. Information on what's currently playing (as well as the past few tracks), if available, will be shown there.

What listening options do I have? Do I have to keep the radio station page open in my browser?

No, you can get a new popup window player by clicking on the "open exteral player" button in the player, next to the radio station logo:

This is what the popup player looks like:

How can I control the audio volume?

There's a mute/unmute icon in the radio player (both the one on the top of the website's pages and the popup one). If you click on it you will mute the audio and if you click on it again you will unmute it. When you pass your mouse pointer over it, a volume level control will appear, where you can select a desired volume level without muting the audio completely:

How do I know which Radiojar window is playing music? It's driving me mad!

We're adding a "play" icon to the page title, so you can spot the page that's playing music by the little triangle next to its name on the browser tab:
